Terms of Service for MVCSD Website – Staff Login
Effective date: August 5, 2026

These Terms of Service govern use of MVCSD Website – Staff Login, an internal service provided by Maquoketa Valley Community School District.

Eligibility and acceptance

The application is intended only for authorized MVCSD employees and staff members using an approved maquoketa-v.k12.ia.us Google Workspace account.

By signing in or submitting information, you agree to these terms and all applicable District policies. If you do not agree, do not use the application.

Permitted use

You may use the application only for legitimate District educational, operational, communications, and community-engagement purposes.

You may not:

  • Attempt to sign in using an unauthorized account
  • Share access or allow another person to use your authenticated session
  • Circumvent security, domain restrictions, or access controls
  • Upload malicious files or disruptive code
  • Submit unlawful, misleading, infringing, or inappropriate material
  • Submit confidential student records or sensitive personal information
  • Use the application in violation of District policy or applicable law

Account security

You are responsible for safeguarding your Google Workspace account and promptly reporting suspected compromise or unauthorized access. MVCSD does not receive or store your Google password; authentication is performed by Google.

Submitted materials

By submitting text, photographs, documents, or other materials, you represent that:

  • The submission is accurate to the best of your knowledge
  • It is appropriate for possible public distribution
  • You have authority to provide the material
  • Required student media permissions have been verified
  • The submission does not contain confidential education records or inappropriate personal information
  • Publication would not violate copyright, privacy, District policy, or applicable law

You authorize MVCSD to review, select, edit, reproduce, adapt, and publish submitted materials through official District communication channels. Submission does not guarantee publication. MVCSD may decline, edit, postpone, or remove material at its discretion.

Privacy

Use of Google account information and other submitted information is governed by the OpenID Connect Privacy Policy.

Availability and changes

The application is provided for District convenience. MVCSD may modify, suspend, restrict, or discontinue it at any time. The District does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.

Suspension of access

MVCSD may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect District systems, enforce policy, investigate misuse, or comply with legal obligations.

Disclaimer

The application is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent permitted by law, MVCSD disclaims warranties concerning uninterrupted availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or freedom from errors.

Nothing in these terms limits rights or obligations that cannot lawfully be limited, including obligations imposed on the District by applicable public-records, education, employment, or privacy laws.

Governing requirements

Use of the application is subject to applicable federal and Iowa law and to MVCSD policies and administrative requirements. District policy controls if these terms conflict with an applicable District rule.

Changes to these terms

MVCSD may update these terms as the application or applicable requirements change. Continued use after an updated version is posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
